In January 2002, Rachael Shannon, Jason Neufeld, and Michelle Marchesseault, took the helm of what was then Jennifer Chenoweth Projects, a successful paint finishing company owned and operated by Jennifer Chenoweth, now of Fisterra Studios. We formed Redstart Paint Design, moved into our current studio at 517 Navasota Street, and began further exploring together our wide range of interests and talents as artists and designers. Under the Redstart name, we have worked in numerous genres: modern and contemporary design; op-art inspired graphics; classical, large-scale figurative murals; traditional faux finishes; storybook-inspired children's imagery; free-form abstraction; and more. |
Using the medium of paint, we work with our client to create customized concepts and an atmosphere that reflects the unique qualities, function, and personality of each space. We enjoy the collaborative process. In our years of operation, we have had the pleasure of working throughout the Austin community and beyond with individuals, as well as many talented designers, on private residences, commercial retail venues, film sets, and performance/art spaces.

As individual artists in the community, we have all collaborated on several creative projects including, but not limited to, costume, set- design and musical work on one of Austin's more unique events: The H2HOs synchronized-swimming extravaganza.
At present, Redstart Paint Design is comprised of Rachael and Michelle, with some occasional help. Jason left in 2005 to pursue a formal study of industrial design.
Redstart looks forward to further collaboration among the Austin community, as well as continuing to develop our national clientele. |
